Mr. Crawford Pearson Little Jr., 81, of 748 West Main Street, Washington, died Sunday, January 21, 2007, at Beaufort County Hospital.
A graveside funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Zion Episcopal Church Cemetery officiated by the Reverend Charles Kettlewell.
Mr. Little was born in Beaufort County on April 30, 1925 son of the late Crawford P. Little Sr. and the late Margaret Harvey Little. He graduated from Washington High School in 1943. Mr. Little served his country in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater from December 1943 to May 1946. He also served at Key West, Fla. during the Korean War from April 1951 to August 1952. Mr. Little retired from Cotter &Company of Chicago, Ill., a parent company of True Value Hardware, in May 1992. He was a volunteer fireman with the Washington Fire Department for 20 years and a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church of Washington where he served as a Sunday School teacher, Acolyte, Vestryman and Treasurer.
Mr. Little is survived by two sisters: Lucy Little of Winter Park, Fla. and Helen Little Parrish of Durham; two nephews, Ashley Alligood of Wilson and Crawford Parrish of Tulahoma, Tenn.; three great nephews and one great niece. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Little Alligood on December 23, 1997.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks memorial contributions be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 88 N. Asbury Church Road, Washington or to St. Peters Episcopal Church, all Soul Saints Fund, 101 North Bonner Street, Washington.
