Charlie “C.B.” Mizelle

Mr. Charlie Bennett “C.B.” Mizelle, 79, of 3620 Voice of America Road, Washington, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Wesleyan Pentecostal Church with Daniel Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Snowd Branch Church of God cemetery.
Monty Griffin, Mike Connell, Joel Mizelle, Garyn Mizelle, Nathan Lapp and Kenny Beacham will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Mizelle was born in Beaufort County on Oct. 17, 1927. He was the son of the late Nathan and Gertie Viola Cratt Mizelle. On April 9, 1949, he married the former Betty Joyce Cowen, who survives. He was a farmer and worked with Rumley Motor Supplies as a parts salesman and mechanic. He was the oldest member of Wesleyn Pentecostal Church, where he was one of the original founders. He also played guitar and sang at the church.
Survivors include four daughters, Gayle M. Jones of Tarboro, Kay M. Edmondson of Everetts, Sue M. Bonner of Washington, and Joyce M. Buck of Grimesland; one son, Charlie Benny Mizelle Jr. of Washington; one sister, Shelby M. Beacham of Washington; one brother, Jim Mizelle of Washington; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Heber Nathan Mizelle; two brothers, Marvin Taylor Mizelle and Heber Nathan Mizelle and one sister, Mary Jeanette Mizelle.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, and other times at the home.
