Mr. Bonnie Gray Waters, Sr., age 70, a resident of 16372 NC Hwy 32 N. Pinetown, NC died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at his home.
A funeral will be held 1 p.m. Sunday January 28, 2007 at Pinetown Church of Christ officiated by Kent Gurganus. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Curtis Potter, Larry Boyd, Henry Booth, Carlton Peele, Haywood Everett and Kenneth Lamm will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Waters was born in Beaufort County on June 25, 1936, son of the late Charlie Warren Waters and the late Blanche Bowen Waters. He was a 1955 graduate of Pantego High School and served his country in the US Army Reserves. Mr. Waters married the former Ada Irene Leggett on November 22, 1956 and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past November. He was a farmer, owned BGW Trucking Company, BGW Construction Company, A &B Forestry, which he and his wife, contracted with Weyerhaeuser and owned and operated Waters Service Station. Mr. Waters was a member of Pinetown Church of Christ.
Surviving along with Mr. Waters’ wife, Ada, of the home is a daughter: Patricia Waters Peaks and her husband, Wayne of Williamston; a son: Bonnie G. Waters, Jr. and his wife, Leigh of Bath; two sisters: Velma W. Gurganus and Carol W. Best both of Pinetown; a brother: David W. Waters of Pinetown and his grandchildren: Erica Waters, Madison Waters, Brandon Horn, Krista Horn, Brooks Horn and Janay Ward. Mr. Waters was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Jessie Louise Ward; a sister: Evelyn W. Dunbar and a brother: Lester M. Waters.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday January 27, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the home.
