Mrs. Frances M. Hine

Mrs. Frances Massey Hine, age 89, a former resident of 432 E. Main Street, Washington, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the home of her daughter, Martha Matthews, 140 E. Main Street, Washington.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Willowdale Cemetery in Goldsboro.
Mrs. Hine was born in Salisbury, N.C. on April 1, 1917. She was the daughter of the late Charles Robert Massey and Ida Bost Wiggins Massey. Mrs. Hine worked for the United Way in Goldsboro and Rocky Mount where she retired with 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Hine was married to Charles James Hine, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Survivors include her daughter, Martha Hine Matthews of Washington; her son, Robert Earl Hine and his wife, Brenda of Ft. Myers, FL; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Hine was preceded in death by a son, Charles James Hine, Jr.; a sister, Verona Massey; and four brothers, Charles Robert Massey, Kermit Nathan Massey, Hoyle Clinton Massey and William Dowell Massey.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Ms. Matthews’ home, 140 E. Main Street, Washington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 985, Washington, N.C. 27889.
