CRESWELL— Mr. Quinten Adell Clifton, 87, of Creswell, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at Plumbee Nursing Center, Plymouth.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Philippi Church of Christ with Larry Woodley and Glenn Brickhouse officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Clifton was born June 7, 1919, son of the late Charlie H. and Bertha Phelps Clifton. He was a retired building contractor, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Philippi Church of Christ.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet Clifton-Capua, of Chesapeake, Va.; two sons, Ted Clifton of Creswell and Kenneth Clifton of Washington; three sisters, Mary C. Spruill, Velma C. Spear and Adelia C. Spruill, all of Creswell; a brother, Vance Clifton, of Norfolk, Va.; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Fry Clifton; a son, Tab Mitchell Clifton; two sisters, Mildred C. Spencer and Violet C. Malpass and one brother, Charlie Clifton.
The family will receive friends Monday from 9-10:30 a.m. at Philippi Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
