WINDSOR— Mrs. Myldred Gupton Dawson, 85, formerly of 1517 S. King St., Windsor, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at the Woodlands in Houston.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cashie Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jack Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery.
Mrs. Dawson was born in Warren County on April 21, 1918, daughter of the late John T. and Maude Crawley Gupton. She taught school in Gates, Halifax and Bertie counties and in Arlington, Va. She was a member of the Cashie Baptist Church, the WMU and taught Sunday school. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma International and served on the Board of Directors of Winston Park Rest Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Dawson.
Survivors include a son, William T. Dawson of Conroe, Texas; a brother, Frank Gupton of Littleton; two sisters, Magnora Davis of Warrenton and Lillie Mae Shearin of Arocola; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9-10:30 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor.
