ROBBINS — Elise Warner Wilson, 92, of Scotia Village, Laurinburg, NC, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 3, 2007. Prior to moving to Scotia Village, she lived in Robbins, NC for years, where she was an active member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church, where she held various positions with the United Methodist Women and was a faithful member of the Fine Hour group.
Elise was proud of her family and never let an occasion pass without sharing her immense pride in each of them and their families. She and her late husband, Lewis E. Wilson, had six children. She was preceded in death by a son: Charles Raymond (Butch) Wilson and two brothers: J.W. Warner and Charles Warner, Jr.
Surviving are: son: Joe and wife, Auvilla Wilson of Charlotte; 4 daughters: Sandra and husband, David Burns of Laurinburg, Jane and husband, Lee Widmeyer of Bettendorf, Iowa, Elaine Rozar of Hacienda Heights, California, and Cherri and husband, Rick Howdy of Washington, NC. 12 grandchildren: Elizabeth and husband Mickey Velasquez of Lawrenceville, GA, Kirk Wilson of Rock Hill, SC, Keith and wife Elizabeth Burns of Durham, Wendy and husband Alan Woodlief of Greensboro, Matthew and wife Deanna Wilson of Raleigh, Mark and wife Madalene Wilson of Cary, Michael and wife Aimee Roberts Widmeyer of Raytown, MO, Patrick and wife Valerie Widmeyer of Bettendorf, IA, Lisa and husband Greg Gulley of Davenport, IA, Amy and husband Frank Valle of Walnut, CA, Trey and wife Summer Howdy of Washington, NC, Meg Howdy of Washington. 12 great-grandchildren. 1 sister: Ruth Griggs of Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends in Laurinburg at Scotia Village, Tuesday, February 6, from 6-8 p.m. and in Robbins at Kennedy Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 7, from 4-6 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Robbins with the Rev. Mike Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Rest Cemetery, Robbins.
