Mr. Talmadge Ray Tingle Sr., 70, of 2729 Colgate Drive, Fayetteville, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held today at 3 p.m. in Snyder Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Mark Olson officiating.
Mr. Tingle was the son of the late Pearl M. and Richard T. Tingle. He was an Army veteran. He was a Mason, a member of the American Legion and Friendship Club and former president of the Optimist Club in Tarboro. He was married to Norma H. Tingle, who survives. He was a retired employee of Sprint with more than 43 years of service and a member of REACT, Retired Employees After Carolina Telephone. He was a member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Orr Sunday school class.
Survivors include two sons, Talmadge Ray Tingle Jr. of Simsbury, Conn., and Thomas Richard Tingle of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two brothers, Loren Tingle of Lewisville, and Richard Tingle of Havelock; two sisters, Ann Tetterton of Washington, and Emma Paul of Rockingham; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Winfield Tingle and one sister, Peggy Nordstrom.
