Mr. Ellis Roberson Jr., 84, of 702 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at Beaufort County Hospital, Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.
Mr. Roberson was born in Beaufort County on Sept. 24, 1922. He was the son of the late Bessis Simmons and Ellis Roberson Sr. He attended the Beaufort County Schools. He was an Army veteran. He was employed with the N.C. Department of Transportation. He was married to Hattie Spruill Roberson, who survives.
Survivors include one daughter, Patsy Foreman of Chocowinity; two sisters, Neva Sherman of Washington, and Queen Esther Walker of Portsmouth, Va.; one brother, Johnny L. Simmons of Portsmouth, Va.; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6-7 p.m. at Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington, and other times at the home.
