Mr. Tommie Martin Gaylord, 91, of 1247 Water St., Jamesville, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at Martin General Hospital, Williamston.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Jamesville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Formo officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery.
Mr. Gaylord was born in Martin County on Aug. 5, 1915. He was the son of the late William Benjamin Gaylord Sr. and Ella Susan Martin Gaylord. On June 12, 1943, he married Mildred Troxler Gaylord, who survives. He had worked as a principal, superintendent and book salesman for Doubleday. He was a member of Jamesville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Mark Gaylord of Greensboro; one daughter, Susan Tysinger of Greensboro; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday at Jamesville United Methodist Church one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.
