Mr. Lawrence “Tom” Norman

Mr. Lawrence Thomas “Tom” Norman, age 88, a resident of 352 Lake Road, Pantego, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Three Rivers Health &Rehabilitation Center in Windsor.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Belhaven, conducted by Paul Praschnik. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery, Pungo community, Pantego.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Major Respess, Tracy Bowen, Charles Fletcher, Curtis Fletcher, Buster Manning and Maurice Manning.
Mr. Norman was born on August 11, 1918. He was the son of the late Nehemiah Norman and Lenor Askew Norman. Mr. Norman was a native and lifetime resident of Washington County and a member of Poplar Chapel Church of Christ in Jamesville. He retired from Weyerhaeuser in Plymouth in 1983 with 43 years of service.
Mr. Norman is survived by his wife of 41 years, Clara Foster Norman; three stepsons, James Anthony Respess and his wife, Connie of Plymouth, Michael Major Respess and his wife, Debbie of Belhaven, and Bruce Grady Respess and his wife, Cheryl of Roper; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Norman was preceded in death by a grandson, Michial Major Respess II; three sisters; and three brothers.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home, Belhaven and other times at the home of Major and Debbie Respess, 5700 N.C. 45 North, Belhaven, N.C. 27810.
