Mrs. Gertrude K. Moore of 60 Jones Road, Blounts Creek, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, at Britthaven of Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in St. John Free Will Baptist Church, Blounts Creek, with the Rev. Edmond J. Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Keyes family cemetery, Blounts Creek.
Mrs. Moore was born Aug. 5, 1921, the daughter of the late James and Ever Mitchell Moore. She attended the Beaufort County Schools. She was married to Thelmon Moore, who preceded her in death. She was a member of St. John Free Will Baptist Church, where she was a Mother of the church and secretary.
Survivors include five daughters, Phyliss Smith of Durham, Doris Grant of Selden, Long Island, N.Y., Gentry Mills of Chocowinity, Arnelia Moore of Portchester, N.Y., and Donna Graves of Greensboro; two sons, Kafer Moore of Washington, and Patrick Moore of Blounts Creek; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Hattie Foskey and Iola Keyes, and four brothers, Alexander, James Irvin, Garfield and Hertford Keyes.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington.
