Mr. Jasper Perry Turner, 95, of Plymouth, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Al Markuson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Turner was born in Pitt County on Nov. 7, 1911. He was the son of the late Claude and Mary Rouse Turner. He was married to Audrey Louise Bishop Turner, who preceded him in death. He retired from Weyerhaeuser after 36 years where he worked as a turbine operator. He was a 3rd Degree Master Mason of Perserverance Lodge No. 59, a Shriner and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite. He was a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean T. Beasley of Plymouth; one son, Reuben P. Turner of Ernul; two sisters, Lossie T. Wooten and Emma T. Olsen, both of Ayden; two brothers, A.C. Turner of Fountain, and Billie R. Turner of Walstonburg; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and four great-greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Henry W. Turner; three sisters, Mary Ellen Smith, Lillie T. Turner and Doris Jordan; and one brother, Walter Turner.
The family will receive friends today from 6-9 p.m. at Smith and Austin Funeral Home, Horner Chapel, Plymouth.
