Matilda Hooker Moore, 89, of 1943 Mauls Point Road, Blounts Creek, died Feb. 14, 2007 at Beaufort County Hospital.
A funeral service will be conducted Monday at noon at Ware Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop Charles Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Ware Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was born in Beaufort County on Aug. 28, 1917 to the late Nathan Hooker Sr. and Hattie S. Hooker. She attended the Beaufort County Schools and was a member of Ware Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the usher board prior to declining health.
She was married to Joseph Moore who preceded her in death. Survivors are a sister, Hattie Robinson of New Bern; a brother, Nathan Hooker of Washington; a daughter, Leona M. Carter of the home; a son, Lawrence Moore of Goldsboro; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home. Arrangements are by Whitfield and Whitley Funeral Home
