Mr. Billy Franklin Ray, 74, of 448 Cooper Hill Road, Windsor, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, with the Rev. J.N. Baggett officiating.
Mr. Ray was born in Bertie County on Feb. 19, 1933. He was the son of the late Bill Jake and Nina Davis Ray. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was married to Sylvia Bowlin Ray, who survives. He was a member of Bucklesberry Hunt Club. He was a member of Lawrence Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Bobby Ray, Danny Ray, Robert Ray and Marvin Ray, all of Windsor; three stepsons, Anthony Barber and Dean Barber, both of Windsor, and Scotty Barber of Wilmington; two daughters, Judy Chesson of Williamston, and Joyce Baggett of Cofield; one stepdaughter, Karen Langley of Windsor; two brothers, Earl Ray of Windsor, and Dean Ray of Colerain; and four sisters, Alma White and Jan Castelloe, both of Askewville, and Dot Salinas and Betty Bowen, both of Windsor.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, and other times at the home.
