Mrs. Dimple Jones Taylor, 74, of 4976 Soundside Road, Columbia, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at Chowan Hospital Skill Nursing Unit.
A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Smith &Austin Funeral Home, Columbia.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Tyrrell County on Jan. 12, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Walter Alonzo Jones and Mabel Cahoon. She worked as a dispatcher for the Tyrrell County Sheriff’s Department until her retirement. She was a member of Assembly of Praise Church.
Survivors include one son, Jimmie D. Taylor of Florida; one daughter, Cathy Lynn Taylor Coxon of Florida; three brothers, Phillip Jones, Morris Jones and Lawrence Jones; five sisters, Lucy Bateman, Eunice Brickhouse, Doris Brickhouse, Judy Cahoon and Priscilla Mayo; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one brother, James Arnold Jones and two sisters, Nellie Gray and Wilma Floyd.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 3-4 p.m. at Smith &Austin Funeral Home, Columbia.
