Dr. Bill H. Kinsey, Sr., age 92, retired veterinarian and resident of 106 Spruce Street, Washington Park, died Friday, February 23, 2007, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2007, at Second Baptist Church, Washington, conducted by Dr. Phil Hayes and the Rev. William Gay. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
Deacons of the Second Baptist Church will serve as active pallbearers. Members of his Sunday school class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Dr. Kinsey was born in Coinjock, N.C., on August 4, 1914. He was the son of the late Benjamin Cull Kinsey and Alice Garrington Kinsey. Dr. Kinsey did his undergraduate work at Wake Forest University. He studied veterinary medicine at Auburn University. Dr. Kinsey’s practice served the area from Wilmington to the Outer Banks. He was a member of the North Carolina State Veterinarian Association, where he held several offices. Dr. Kinsey was a member of Second Baptist Church. He served on the Beaufort County Hospital Board, Beaufort County Board of Health and the Washington Park Board. Dr. Kinsey was a Beaufort County Hospital volunteer and assisted with the Meals on Wheels program
Dr. Kinsey was married to the former Margaret Cochrane, who preceded him in death in January 1998.
Survivors include his son, Dr. Bill H. Kinsey, Jr. of Zimbabwe; his daughter, Lynne Asby and her husband, James, of Cary, N.C.; a granddaughter, Margaret Peykamian and her husband, Shahram, of Cary; a grandson, Todd Asby and his wife, Emily, of Raleigh; and four great-grandchildren, Roxanna Lynne Peykamian, Layla Grace Peykamian, Shane Douglas Asby and Sarah Elizabeth Asby.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2007, at Second Baptist Church and other times at his home.
