Mr. George Terrence Barden, 96, of Tarboro, N.C., died February 24, 2007, at Heritage Hospital in Tarboro, N.C.
Born February 10, 1911, to the late George Thomas Barden and Mittie Gerkin Barden.
Mr. Sawyer was an automobile dealer for House Chevrolet in Plymouth, N.C., for several years. He was a member of the Plymouth Lions Club and Plymouth United Methodist Church.
Mr. Barden is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Getsinger Barden; father, George Thomas Barden; mother, Mittie Gerkin Barden; and one sister, Thelma Taylor.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Alice Goodwin and husband, John, of Jamesville, N.C.; two grandchildren, Leigh Goodwin Cicci and husband, Chris, of Concord, N.C., and Jennifer Goodwin of Cary, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Michael Cicci and Catherine Cicci.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2007, at Smith and Austin Horner-Walker Chapel in Plymouth, N.C. Dr. Dennis Draper will be officiating.
Interment will follow at Plymouth United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Plymouth United Methodist Cemetery Fund or to the charity of your choices.
