Alice S. Stout

Mrs. Alice Stoop Stout, age 93, a former resident of 116 Van Dorp Road, the Terra Ceia Community of Pantego, died Monday February 26, 2007 at Ridgewood Nursing Home of Washington, NC.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday March 1, 2007 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens officiated by Pastor Calvin Tuininga. Members of Covenant United Reformed Church will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Stout was born in Hawarden, Iowa on December 9, 1913 daughter of the late Andrew Stoop, Sr. and the late Hendrika Johanna Drenth Stoop. She married Robert Clyde “Bob” Stout on September 21, 1935 who preceded her in death on January 26, 1998. Mrs. Stout was a homemaker who owned and operated Stout Upholstery Shop out of her home. She was a member of Covenant United Reformed Church of Pantego where she was a member of its ladies auxiliary. Mrs. Stout was a faithful supporter of the Saturday Night Jamboree as long as her health permitted.
Survivors include a son: Andrew Stout and his wife Lula of Washington; two grandsons: Richard Stout and his wife Lou of Washington and Michael Stout of Raleigh. Mrs. Stout was preceded in death by a daughter: Elizabeth “Betty” Stout on April 20, 1993; two brothers: Henry Stoop and Andrew Stoop, Jr. and a sister: Ann Cicio.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday February 28, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home of Mrs. Stout’s son Andrew located at 335 East 13th Street, Washington.
Flowers are welcome and appreciated and the family kindly asks any memorial contributions be made to Covenant United Reformed Church P.O. 9, Pantego, NC 27860.
The Stout family would like to thank Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home and its staff not only for its care for Mrs. Alice but also its concern for them during Mrs. Stout’s stay there.
