J. Scott Alligood, age 21, a resident of 924 Cherry Road, Washington, died Tuesday afternoon, February 27, 2007 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday March 2, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Washington officiated by Dr. Michael Price. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
Josh Powell, Billy Moore, Matt Faulkner, Kyle Allen, Charles Daniels, Brant Harris, Stetson Mann and Brent Woolard will serve as pallbearers. Brandon Milns, Chase Sterenberg, Jeffrey Houston, Blake Woolard, Matt Sawyer, Royce Woolard, Bruce Reid Harris, Shelton Muse, Wayne Waters, Gaylon Neiderhouser, Kevin Hooper, Mark Smith, Tres Harris, and Grayson Hodges will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Scott was born in Beaufort County on November 28, 1985 son of Betty Ann Jones Alligood and the late John Alan Alligood. He was a 2004 graduate of Washington High School and attended Beaufort Community College for two years. Scott was employed with Advance Moving Company. He was involved with the Inner Banks Youth Soccer Association as a coach for the Girls Youth Rip Tides Team.
In addition to his mother, Betty, of the home, he is survived by his sisters: Christie Alligood Odom and her husband, Tim of Greenville and Kim Alligood and Kathy Alligood Youmans and her husband, Riley Youmans both of Washington; his nephews: Nicholas Odom, Bryce Odom and Tristen Youmans and his niece: Peyton Youmans. His father, John Alligood, preceded him in death on January 8, 2004.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the home of his sister, Kathy Youmans located at 107 Cedar Circle, Washington.
