Mrs. Annie Bell Swain Smith, 77, of 106 Sawmill Circle, Plymouth, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder Mildren Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Toodle’s Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born in Bertie County on May 11, 1929. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and Annie Pugh Swain. She was married to Acie Smith, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include one son, James L. Smith of Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Robert Swain of New York, and Joe Willie Swain of Plymouth; seven sisters, Lettie L. Pittman and Mable Swain, both of Plymouth, Addie Winborne, Martha Watson, Mary Speller and Clara L. Swain, all of Windsor, and Lena Swain of Atlantic City, N.J.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ and other times at the home of her niece, Estella Ford, 409 E. Main St., Plymouth.
Arrangements are by Toodle’s Funeral Home, Plymouth.
