Mrs. Claudia H. Leighty, 59, of 75 Woodstock Road, Belhaven, died Thursday, March 1, 2007 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2007 in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service with Linda Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at the Ross Family Cemetery in Bath. Howell Sparrow, Brice May, Steve Paschall, Freddy Warren, Charlie Brooks, and Todd Venters will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, and other times at the home.
Mrs. Leighty was born March 13, 1947 in Connellsville, PA. She was the daughter of the late Robert Hartline and Francis Fisher Hartline. On June 21, 1967, she married William S. Leighty, who survives. She was a graduate of Southmoreland High School and attended Deurlein Secretary School. Mrs. Leighty was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, William S. Leighty; her children, William Brett Leighty and his wife, Sherry of Pennsylvania, Stephanie Jo Leighty of Belhaven, NC, Amy Beth Leighty of Missouri, Melinda Kay Fitchett and her husband, Doug of Florida, Stephen Shane Leighty and his wife, Shelley of Pinetown, NC, and Angela “Susie” Murphy of Bath, NC and ten grandchildren.
