TARBORO — E. Vernon Hodges, 77, died Monday.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at the St. James United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery in Sladesville, N.C., Wednesday at 3 p.m.
Vernon was a Korean War Veteran serving in the US Navy. He retired from Sprint Telephone as Director of Network Design after 37 years of service.
Surviving: wife of 50 years, Kathryn Credle Hodges; sisters, Millicent Bjurstrom, Moline, Ill. Ruby Lee Reges, Red Oak; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home, Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home, 308 Cambridge Dr., Tarboro.
