Mrs. Nellie Woolard Lee, 88, of 9293 N.C. Highway 32 North, Washington, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lee Cemetery, N.C. Highway 32, Washington, with Tony Krantz officiating. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Lee was born in Beaufort County on March 10, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Gray Woolard and Sallie Jane Singleton Woolard. She was married to Elijah Mansfield Lee, who preceded her in death. She was a retired clothing clerk with Buckman’s and Belk’s. She was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Phillip M. Lee Sr. of Washington, and Roger Edwin Lee of Newport News, Va.; one daughter, Treva Lee Tankard of Bath; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one brother, Joseph Gray Woolard Jr. of Hampstead.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service and other times at the home.
