Mrs. Mary Irma Cherry Warren, age 86, a former resident of 6958 U.S. Hwy. 17 North died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Britthaven Nursing Home of Washington.
A graveside funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Eddie Bowen.
Mrs. Warren was born in Beaufort County on September 28, 1920, daughter of the late James Alfred Cherry and the late Sudie Roberson Cherry. She graduated from Washington High School and married Albert Thomas Warren who preceded her in death on October 29, 1983. Mrs. Warren was a homemaker and a member of Old Ford Church of Christ. She was very active in her church as long as her health permitted her to do so.
Survivors include two daughters: Joann Banks of Greenville, Frances W. Williams and her husband Gary of Washington; a son: James Albert Warren of the home; a daughter in law: JoAnn Warren of Vanceboro; a brother: Russell Cherry of Derby, Kansas; six grandchildren: Philip Watson, Cindy Morris and Selena Coltrain, all of Greenville, Lisa W. Baker of Washington, Mary Frances Callahan of Aurora and Donald Banks of Chocowinity; ten great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Warren was preceded in death by a son: Thomas Holt Warren Sr.; two grandchildren: Thomas Holt Warren, Jr. and Frances Darlene Warren; four brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington.
