Christine Mizelle Cowand, 72, of Merry Hill died at her home Saturday, March 10, 2007.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Merry Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery.
Mrs. Cowand was born July 14, 1934. She was the daughter of the late William Granville and Delsie Hoggard Mizelle. She was the owner and operator of Midway Beauty Shop for 40 years. She was a member of Merry Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Thomas Duncan Coward; two daughters, Tommye Ann Cowand Collins of Nashville and Gail Marie Coward of Merry Hill; one brother, William “Billy” Mizelle of Colerain; one sister, Lillian Evans of Chesapeake, Va.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ethan Mizelle, and a sister, Ineta Mizelle.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Walker Funeral Home in Windsor.
