Mr. Linwood L. Spencer Sr., 88, of Columbia died Sunday, March 11, 2007, at his home.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Grove Church of Christ with Elder Rodney Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Mr. Spencer was born in Hyde County on Nov. 20, 1918. He was a retired truck driver and an Army veteran. He married Marie Spencer of Columbia, who survives.
Survivors include three sons, Linwood L. Spencer Jr. of Edenton, Jimmy Spencer of Columbia and Billy Harris of New Jersey; seven daughters, Rosie Daniels of New York, Ann Liverman of Pennsylvania, Bettie Lovett and Cynthia Alexander, both of New Jersey, Joyce Douglas and Sandra James, both of Columbia, and Linda Blount of Creswell; one brother, Samuel Spencer Jr. of Columbia; two sisters, Charlotte Fenner and Jennie Bowser, both of Columbia; 39 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren.
