Mr. Jerry Anthony Coston, age 70, a resident of 11380 N.C. Highway 32 North, Washington, died Sunday, March 11, 2007 at his home.
Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, conducted by Larry Minor and Tony Congleton.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Albert Pinkham, James Batchelor, Earl Jordan, Larry Harding, Ernest Cox, and Nicky Hopkins.
Mr. Coston was born in Onslow County on November 6, 1936. He was the son of the late Herman G. Coston and Eunice Hudson Coston. Mr. Coston was a self-employed carpenter, retiring in 2000. He had lived in Onslow County for 27 years before moving to Beaufort County. Mr. Coston served as a Elder with Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Washington for 23 years and 12 years in Belhaven.
On June 11, 1960, Mr. Coston married the former Barbara Pinkham, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Lesha C. Brooks and her husband, Roger of Bath, Tracy C. Muse and her husband, Jason of New Bern; three grandchildren, Ashton J. Muse, Maegan Leigh Muse, Melana Rose Muse; one brother, Delmar Coston of Bowling Green, VA; two sisters, Delphia Kennedy of Kinston, Marie Metts of Lexington, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Kathy Carder of Lexington.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Coston was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Coston.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home, 11380 N.C. Highway 32 North, Washington.
