Mr. Donnie Earl Gibbs, 50, of 8289 N.C. Highway 92, Bath, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in St. Stephens Baptist Church, Bath, with Elder Gary Best officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Gibbs was born in Beaufort County on Jan. 25, 1957. He was the son of Lenora Mann Gibbs and the late William R. Gibbs Sr. He attended the Beaufort County Schools. He had been employed as a commercial fisherman with various seafood companies. He was a member of St. Stephens Baptist Church, Bath.
Survivors include three sisters, Loria Gibbs-Artis of Bath, and Darlene Gibbs Jones and Patricia Warren, both of Washington; and five brothers, Johnnie Gibbs of Bath, and Jerry Gibbs, William Gibbs Jr., Randy Gibbs and Charlie Earl Mann, all of Washington.
The family will receive friends at the home.
