Mrs. Willie Belle Howland, age 89, a resident of 434 East Bay St. in Belhaven, died on March 13, 2007 at Pungo District Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven officiated by Travis Boyd. Burial will follow at Belhaven Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Howland was born in Hyde County on December 7, 1917, daughter of the late Perrion Harris and the late Vera Harris. She married Charlie Roy Howland Sr. who preceded her in death on September 29, 1996. Mrs. Howland was a member of First Christian Church in Belhaven.
Survivors include a son: Charlie Roy Howland Jr. and his wife Else of Wichita Falls, Texas; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Howland was preceded in death by a son, David Harold Howland and an infant daughter, Mattie Belle Howland.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 18, 2007 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2418 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC 27607.
