GREENVILLE— Mr. Edwin Joseph Sullivan, age 77, a resident of 205 Fairway Drive, Greenville, NC , died Friday evening, March 16, 2007 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday March 20, 2007 at the chapel of Paul Funeral Home in Washington, officiated by Dr. Gregory P. Rogers and Rev. Beth Thompson. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
His nephews, Greg Sullivan, Don Sullivan, Tony Abeyounis and Greg Abeyounis will serve as pallbearers. Also serving as pallbearers will be Jim Perkins and Jack Tyler.
Mr. Sullivan was born in Johnston County on September 5, 1929, son of the late Edwin Thomas Sullivan and Annie Sullivan. On September 25, 1954, he married the former Shirley Anne Swain, who survives. Mr. Sullivan was employed for 25 years with Charles Department Store as assistant manager and then manager. He later worked 30 years with General Cash and Carry in Greenville, NC. Mr. Sullivan was a member of Oakmont Baptist Church and the Pathfinders Sunday School. He loved to fish.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, of the home, he is survived by his daughter: Melony J. Sullivan of Greenville; his granddaughter: Leslie Sullivan Allred of Beaufort; his brother: James G. Sullivan and his wife, Eleanor of Greenville; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Holly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Lester Graham Sullivan in November, 1998.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM Monday at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the home.
