Mr. Norman Eugene Carson Sr., 86, of 173 East Washington St., died Friday, March 23, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Carson was born in Pitt County May 4, 1920 to the late John Royal and Jessie Manning Carson and was predeceased by his wife, Frances “Cena” Taylor Carson and a son, N. Eugene Carson Jr. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and a lifelong member of the Hamilton Gun Club. He retired as post master of the Bethel Post Office after 25 years of service. He served in the Navy during WWII.
Survivors include one son, Bill Carson of Raleigh and two grandsons.
