HAMPTON — Mrs. Vareitta Jo Blount-Perser, 52, of 2303 Executive Drive, Hampton, Va., died Friday, March 23, 2007, at Riverside Regional Hospital, Newport News, Va.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at First Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Roper with the Rev. Wade Patrick Sr. and Elder Mary Brown officiating. Burial will follow in First Zion Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Blount-Perser was born Aug. 29, 1954 in Washington County, daughter of the late John Henry Blount and Adell Fields-Blount. She was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School class of 1973, and was a member of First Zion Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Mario L. Perser of Hampton, Va.; one daughter, Angela L. Norman of Plymouth; two sons, Mario L. Perser II and Marlon L. Perser, both of Hampton, Va.; four sisters, Daisy Fulford of Camp Zama, Japan, Ann Battle of Chesapeake, Va., Sherleen Sheppard of Williamston and Deborah Whitaker of Plymouth; two brothers, John Blount Jr. of Plymouth and Jackie Blount of Williamston and five grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at First Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Roper.
Arrangements are by Puckett-Purkett Funeral Service, Roper.
