Maggie Ballance Hodges, 75, of 31335 U. S. Highway 264, Engelhard, died Friday, March 30, 2007, at the home of her daughter where she has lived for the past few months.
Born in Hyde County, May 27, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Norwood and Sarah Vaughan Ballance. She was a retired restaurant manager and was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. She was married to James W. Hodges who preceded her in death.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. Russ Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Soule Cemetery.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda H. Barrington and her special friend Murray Cudworth, Loretta H. Wright and her husband, Steve, Betsy H. Pugh and her husband, Paul; three brothers, Murl Carawan and Mack Carawan both of Fairfield and Billy Gene Carawan of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren, Laura Beasley, Angie Hooper, Beth Truelove, Christie Bliven, James Wright, Vicky Wright, Anthony Pugh and Bambi Pugh; great-grandchildren, Cole Beasley, Fisher Beasley, Keegan Beasley, Lara Cate Wright, Brenna Bliven, Maggie Grace Truelove, Jenni Hooper; her very special friend, Lucille Jones.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Ballance.
The family will receive friends at Bryan Funeral Service in Swan Quarter on Sunday evening, 7 to 8:30 p. m. and other times at the home of Betsy and Paul Pugh, 61 Great Ditch Road, Engelhard.
