Miss Jalicia Nicole Hassell, 18, of 390 Kim Loop Road, Plymouth, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Second Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Plymouth, with the Rev. Hubert Judon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Miss Hassell was born in Washington County on June 18, 1988. She was the daughter of Bonita Bell Hassell and Wesley Hassell of Fayetteville. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School, class of 2006. She was a member of the Plymouth High School DECA Club, FBLA Club and an inductee into the Who’s Who of America. She was a member of Second Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she was in the youth choir.
Survivors include one sister, Janita Hassell; one adopted sister, Denise Reed; one brother, Trumond Hassell of Jamesville; grandfather, William Bell and great-grandmother, Doris Small.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Wesley Hassell Jr.; grandfather, Willie Hassell Sr. and grandmothers, Willia Mae Bell and Martha Hassell.
The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Second Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Plymouth.
