Mrs. Wanda Olene Williams Wilcox, 80, of 216 Wilcox Lane, Vanceboro, died Friday, April 6, 2007 at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Haw Branch Church of Christ Cemetery and will be officiated by Kenneth Amick. Eddie Wilcox Jr., Kelly Wilcox, Chris Wilcox, Victor Wilcox, Lee Mills and Red Toler will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Wilcox was born in Beaufort County on September 2, 1926 to the late Victor and Lillian Pearl Buck Williams and on October 7, 1944 she married William “Bill” Wilcox Sr. who survives. She was a 1944 graduate of Vanceboro Farm Life High School and was a member of Denby Baptist Church in Newport News, Va. Mrs. Wilcox was a loving wife and mother to her family.
Survivors include her husband, William E. Wilcox Sr. of the home; her eldest son, William E. Wilcox Jr. of Vanceboro; six grandchildren, William Kelly Wilcox of Suffolk, Va., Michelle Lea Wilcox Everette of Washington, William Christopher-Michael Wilcox of Wilmar, Victor Jaymes Wilcox of Wilmar, Victor Nathaniel Wilcox of Blacksburg, Va., and Jennifer Louise Wilcox of Roanoke, Va. Mrs. Wilcox was also preceded in death by her youngest son, Victor Howard Wilcox of Roanoke, Va.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home on 216 Wilcox Lane, Vanceboro.
