Mr. Lewis David Landen, 73, died Saturday, April 7, 2007.
The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Owen Arthur. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Landen, son of the late Charlie and Mary Ida Landen, was a native of the Pactolus community of Pitt County and had lived in Greenville as a young man. In 1965 he made his home in Parmele where he operated a country store until the early 1980’s. He had made his home in Grimesland for the past ten years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jalene Nichols Landen; son, Richard Landen; four sisters, Catherine Harris, Rebecca Warren, Myrtle Wagner and Thelma Hearn; and three brothers, Arthur Clayton Landen, Dewitt Landen and Curtis Landen.
He is survived by two brothers, Dennis Landen and wife, Faye, of Pitkin, LA and Tom Landen and wife, Glenda, of Washington, NC and a number of nieces and nephews including one special niece who was dearly loved and devoted to him, Vickie Sue Landen.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at the home of Tom and Glenda Landen, 75 Cypress Shores Road, Washington.
