Mr. Willis Elbert Barber, 77, of Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at the nursing home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Pilgrim Church of Christ Disciples of Christ of Scranton with Vice-Bishop Charles Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Davis Family Cemetery in Scranton.
Mr. Barber was born March 7, 1930 in Hyde County to the late Louvenia Davis Barber and Claude Barber. He was educated in the public schools of Hyde County. His employment was in bridge construction with various private companies. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Church of Christ Disciples of Christ of Scranton.
Survivors include two brothers, Garland Haskin Barber of Delaware and William Barber of St. Albans, N.Y. He was preceded in death by a son, Stevie Barber, two sisters and two brothers.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Lula Lovick, 801 Old Highway 264, Scranton.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 North Bonner Street, Washington.
