Mr. Alton Thomas Cuthrell, 83, of 159 Bay River Road, Grantsboro, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at Bayview Nursing &Rehab Center in New Bern.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Sand Hill Cemetery, Reelsboro, with pastor Ray Webb officiating. Bobby Joe Cuthrell, Eric James Cuthrell, Alton Curtis Cuthrell, Timothy Charlie Cuthrell, Bobbylee James Cuthrell and Edward Kowalski will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Cuthrell was born in Pamlico County on Jan. 7, 1924, son of the late Goin and Margaret Hooker Cuthrell. On March 27, 1944, he married the former Dorothy Irene Stembridge, who survives. He was a retired maintenance worker for Georgia Pacific in Bridgeton. He was a member of Faith Christian Church in Grantsboro.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Cuthrell of Blounts Creek, and Jerry Lee Cuthrell of Grantsboro; one daughter, Susie Rolison of Grantsboro; one sister, Minnie Belle Cooper of Norfolk, Va.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Nathan Cuthrell on Feb. 16, 2004.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Christ Vision Church of Blounts Creek and other times at the home of his daughter, Lot 6, Ross’ Mobile Home Park, Camping Road, Grantsboro.
