Mrs. Marjorie Lindsley Jameson, 87, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Williamston Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston.
Mrs. Jameson was born in Norfolk, Va., in 1920. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Prescott Lindsley and Marguerite Gano Lindsley. She graduated from Williamston High School and attended Womans College in Greensboro. She was employed by Virginia Electric Power Company (Dominion Resources). She was married to Roy Jameson Sr., who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Williamston Woman’s Club, where she served as club president and received the Woman of the Year Award. She was chairman of the Green Thumb Garden Club, Book Club president and instrumental in the initiation of beautification projects in Williamston. She was a member of Williamston Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon, elder, circle leader, child and adult Sunday school teacher and choir member.
Survivors include one sister, Carolyn Lindsley Simmons of Williamston.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Gano Lindsley and one sister, Helen Lindsley Hoskins.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home, Williamston, and other times at the home of her sister, 112 W. Grace St., Williamston.
