Mrs. Juanita Mizell Ambrose, 84, of Plymouth died Friday, April 13, 2007, at Plumblee Nursing Center in Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church with the Rev. V. Tom Banks and the Rev. Leonard Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Ambrose was born in Martin County on June 22, 1922. She was the daughter of the late John H. and Effie Wallace Mizell. She was a homemaker and former owner of Granny’s Closet. She was married to Henry Bennett Ambrose Sr., who preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She was a member of the Plymouth Garden Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie A. Phelps of Plymouth; two sons, Bennie Ambrose of Roper and Greg Ambrose of Plymouth; two sisters, Dorothy M. Stone and Joyce M. Hardison, both of Jamesville; one brother, J. Elsworth Mizell of Costa Mesa, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church and other times at the residence of her son, Greg Ambrose.
