Ms. Rosa Belle Mackey, 78, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and formerly of Hyde County, died Friday, April 13, 2007, at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, Brooklyn, N.Y.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Unity Funeral Home, Brooklyn, N.Y. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park and Cemetery, Linden, N.J.
Ms. Mackey was the daughter of the late Golden C. and Ethel Belle Mann Mackey of Hyde County. She was a 1949 graduate of Hyde County Training School. She was a former employee of New York Hospital. She had lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., for 58 years.
Survivors include twin sons, Ronald L. Mackey of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Dr. Richard L. Mackey of Oxford, Miss.; two sisters, Ethel Mackey Brown of Winterville, and Christine Mackey of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and three brothers, Rufus A. Mackey Sr. of Brooklyn, N.Y., Golden C. Mackey of Chesapeake, Va., and Ernest Gibbs of Greenville.
The family will receive friends today from 4-7 p.m. at Unity Funeral Home, Brooklyn, N.Y.
