Mr. James Tucker Boyd, 92, of Washington, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pinewood Memorial Park, Greenville.
Mr. Boyd, a native of Pitt County, had lived in Newport News, Va., for a number of years. He was an Army veteran. He was married to Sallie Toler Boyd, who survives. He was employed with shipyards in Wilmington, Del., and Newport News, Va., and worked for a time with Hackney and Sons in Washington. He was a member of Pactolus Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane Boyd Alligood of Huntersville, and Verna Gay Damouth of Washington; one son, Eric Paul Boyd of Washington; two sisters, Gladys Hardee of Greenville, and Reather Collins of Harriman, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, James K. “Bud” Boyd.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville.
