Mr. Robert Lee Covil, 81, a resident of Cross Creek Health Care Center, Swan Quarter, and formerly of Pungo Village, Belhaven, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Cross Creek Health Care Center.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington. Burial will follow in St. John Missionary Baptist Church cemetery, Scranton.
Mr. Covil was born in Hyde County on Sept. 24, 1925. He was the son of the late Florence O’Neal Covil and Abbit Covil Sr. He attended the Hyde County Schools. He was married to Margaret Covil, who preceded him in death. He had been employed with the N.C. Department of Transportation as a highway repairman.
Survivors include one sister, Ellis C. Parks of Jamaica, Long Island, N.Y., and one brother David Covil of New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Annie Mae Covil and four brothers, Sammy Covil, Abbit Covil Jr., William Covil and James Covil.
