Mrs. Virginia Dare Mackey Gibbs, 83, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Engelhard.
Mrs. Gibbs was born in Hyde County on Sept. 10, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Preston and Janie B. Mackey. She was married to Nathaniel Gibbs, who preceded her in death. She had been employed as a production worker.
Survivors include four sons, Nathaniel Gibbs Jr. of Dover, Del., Harry Little Jack Gibbs of Harbeson, Del., Charles Gibbs of Sharptown and Matthew Gibbs of Georgetown; one daughter, Nancy L. Gibbs of Georgetown; two brothers, Gilbert Mackey and William H. Mackey, both of Millsboro; 28 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Rowsom Funeral Home, Columbia.
