Mrs. Tresia Genevee Adams Jones, 73, of 6786 N.C. Highway 94, Fairfield, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Fairfield Church of Christ with Clifton Fox officiating. Burial will follow Monday at 4 p.m. in Stanton Cemetery, Stanton, Ky.
Mrs. Jones was born in Stanton, Ky., on May 12, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Thair and Elizabeth Elkins Adams. In 1954, she married James Samuel Jones, who survives. She was a member of the Ponzer Ruritan Club. In recent years she was the recipient of the Governor’s Award for Volunteer Service. She had been active in Church of Christ ministry for more than 50 years and spent much of her time involved in the Fairfield Church of Christ food pantry serving Hyde County and the area.
Survivors include three sons, Terry L. Weikert of Grand Ledge, Mich., Thomas G. Weikert of Greensboro, and Timothy R. Jones of Athens, Tenn.; two daughters, Brenda K. Fox of Lexington, Tenn., and Pamela Joy Jones of the home; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Service, Swan Quarter, and other times at the home.
