Mr. Blake Douglas Hodges, 17, of Plymouth, died Friday, April 27, 2007.
Born November 29, 1989 in Chowan County, he is the son of Douglas Wayne and Susan Oliver Hodges, who survive, and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorothy Brannon and Douglas and Jimmie Faye Oliver.
Mr. Hodges was an honor student at Lawrence Academy, and a member of the soccer team. He earned a first-degree black belt in karate, enjoyed music, playing the guitar and drums and loved all types of water sports. He loved history, was a member of the Lawrence Academy History Club, and recently toured Germany, Italy and Mexico with his parents.
Besides his parents, his family includes his brother, Eric Wayne Hodges, of Greenville, N.C.; aunts and uncles, Linda and Pete Harrell, Donna and Gary Manseau of Plymouth, N.C., Teresa and Mike Waters of Pinetown, N.C., Lisa and Mark Smith of Martinez, California and many loving cousins, family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Plymouth Church of Christ, with Bob Moulden officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends on Monday, April 30, 2007 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Plymouth Church of Christ and other times at the residence.
Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
