Mrs. Tillie Motan Woolard

Mrs. Tillie Motan Woolard, age 95, a resident of 7504 Market Street Ext., Washington died Sunday morning April 29, 2007 at Beaufort County Hospital.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday May 2, 2007 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Eddie Bowen. Doug Woolard, Ashley Woolard, Shane Young, Mac Gautier, Joe Rogers and Hubert Hardison will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on July 5, 1911, daughter of the late Wiley Sylvester Woolard and Agnes Rawls Woolard. In November 1936, she married Lindsey McMullan Woolard who preceded her in death on July 13, 1993. Mrs. Woolard was a homemaker. She was a member of Old Ford Church of Christ, taught the Junior High Sunday School Class for 37 years and Vacation Bible School for many years. Mrs. Woolard was a volunteer at Beaufort County Hospital and the Beaufort County Mental Health Association. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her son: Wiley M. Woolard and his wife, Doris of Washington; three grandchildren: Doug Woolard and his wife, Kelly, Ashley M. Woolard and his wife, Jessica; and Marsha W. Young and her husband, Shane all of Washington; five great grandchildren: Payton Woolard, Parker Woolard, Jacob Young, Sidney Young and Katlyn Woolard. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by four sisters: Gladys Sheppard, Leona Bagley, Charlie Roy and Ola Mae Gurkin.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the homeplace and the home of her grandson, Ashley Woolard located at 7504 Market Street Ext., Washington, NC
