Mr. Haywood Alden Leigh Sr., 66, of 681 Gustown Road, Creswell, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Mary’s Church of Christ with Elder Robert Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Cabarrus Cemetery, Creswell.
Mr. Leigh was born in Washington County on March 30, 1941. He was the son of the late Elwood and Odell S. Leigh. He was married to Thelma W. Leigh, who survives. He had been a farmer.
Survivors include two sons, Haywood A. Leigh Jr. of Plymouth, and Joey B. Leigh of Creswell; four daughters, Sylvia Leigh, France Leigh, Darlene R. Burt and Arlene Leigh, all of Georgia; four brothers, Charles Leigh of Fayetteville and Elvin Leigh, Sidney Leigh, and Floyd Leigh, all of Creswell; three sisters, Ruth Sears of Norfolk, Va., Dora Overton of Elizabeth City and Ann Brickhouse of Plymouth; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Rowsom Funeral Home, Columbia.
