One suspect was in jail on another charge of murder

Four Washington men were arrested Tuesday on murder and other charges stemming from the fatal shooting of John Scott Alligood, 21, during a home-invasion robbery in Greenville on Jan. 18.
Kam Mondell Parker, 18, of 305 Van Norden St.; Leon Tyrone Green, 25, of 102 Daniels Court; Rasheed Richard Spruill, 26, of 804 W. 11th St.; and Kelvin Deshon Parker, 24, of 82 Megan Lane, each face an open count of murder, three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of first-degree burglary and one count of felony larceny, according to the Greenville Police Department. The four men are being held at the Pitt County Detention Center without benefit of bond.
Kam Parker was already in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center on a separate murder charge. He is charged with the fatal shooting of a woman at the intersection of Seventh and Market streets in Washington on Feb. 19.
Alligood was shot in the chest after two men, armed with guns, entered his home on 14th Street in Greenville and robbed him, his roommate, Thomas Harris, 25, and two women. Two of the men charged with Alligood’s murder “stayed outside in the car,” Friday said.
After being shot, Alligood was admitted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Later, he was released. He died Feb. 27 from complications related to his injury, according to police.
Previous reports from police stated that money and cell phones were stolen, but Friday said marijuana and a shot gun were also stolen during the robbery.
In April, police began looking for Green and James Earl Purvis Jr., 22, as persons of interests in the case. Police determined Purvis had no involvement with the incident.
